The "revolution" in the exaltation of imperfections
Today I present to you an important fashion designer from Ticino, much followed for his particularity and creativity, and who uses a stylistic language directed to the change of our current society; let's find out how. Who is Simone Conti? Tell us about yourself. I was born in Switzerland to an art family, and this has greatly influenced my life direction. I talk about pictorial art and music; at the age of four I started playing classical violin, growing up I learned other instruments, until I got to electronic music, performing in various venues, both in Switzerland and Italy, and in other countries in Europe. I have always nurtured a passion for fashion and, one day, I decided that I could realize my dream of creating something of my own in this field. So I started with a collection of t-shirts, a limited quantity, until now. It was quite a long and difficult process, I had to find people to work with, a team to try to be able to express what I wanted. Fashion for me is not about making the classic dres beautiful, but communicating through graphics, analyzing society and bringing messages, even doing constructive criticism. I've seen your very distinctive t-shirts with lettering about "Liberté," "Sans liberté"; is there also hidden symbolism beyond these fairly obvious messages? Yes, my intention is to eradicate judgment toward others about physical form, in fact we make clothes from fairly wide and comfortable lines that tend to cover the body.
